Use an Xbox-style controller if you have one. Its left stick is analog, like the Vectrex stick. Keys are only on or off.

The Vectrex start-up screen runs for about 12 seconds, then the game starts. At the calibration screen press button 4. On the title screen press button 4. On a phone, Two sticks swaps the buttons for a second stick. Choose TRUE-DUALSTICK with button 3 first.
